There are some great ways to tell if someone you are talking to is talking absolute crap. This is extremely useful to know when you are out and could meet a potential partner at any time. How many times have you heard your mates say “they were full of crap” after they had been chatted up.
None of the following non verbal signals are actual proof of deception, but they give you a good idea. The only true ways to find out is by putting a gun to their heads OR putting them up for a lie detection test – two very unlikely outcomes when you are in a bar chatting to them.
So, what are the signals to look for:
Heavy sweating – especially palms
Uneven breathing
Swallowing more regularly
Slower speech
Blushing
Avoidance of eye contact
Twitching (very slight)
If you are unsure about someone in terms of their statements, make a mental note and ask them again later – this will expose many men claiming to be pilots who suddenly become firemen!
If a prospective partner is truly interested in you then they should display at least 4 non-verbal signals towards you. No less as otherwise you could be making a HUGE mistake!
You must also be sure that those signals are coming your way rather than someone else’s, as well as taking into account that we all like to flirt, and the signals could be purely of a flirting nature.
If you have read 4 clear signals it’s a great time to wade in and strike up a conversation, but beware of changing body language when you do this as you may find it goes against you and turns negative. However, one positive signal could easily lead to hundreds of them!
Also bear in mind that you should put no time line to signals as it may happen in 5 minutes or it could even be over 5 months.
Look for any of the following:
Open palm pointing to the object of their desire
Mirroring of your gestures
Head tilt exposing the neck
Self touching
Presentation of wrists
Legs and feet pointing at you
The end of a relationship often brings with it heartache and despair and unfortunately this is unavoidable. If you are forewarned to a potential break up then you are forearmed and you can prepare yourself for the worst.
Here are a few ways you can spot the break up, or possibly you may want to use them to give hints that you want to do it!
1 - They ‘go to ground’.
Not necessarily a sign that it is over, but if you are often on the phone to each other and then suddenly can’t get hold of them.. you gotta ask yourself what’s up!
2 – Looking for a fight.
Are they biting your head off at the smallest thing? Are arguments becoming more and more petty. This is often a sign they are looking for ‘you’ to finish it as they don’t have the balls. Be straight and ask them.
3 – Secrets.
If they start to avoid the detail of a night out (for instance) or perhaps who just called or texted, or maybe they disappear for a few hours, then you can’t help but be suspicious.
4 – They become singular.
Rather than talking about ‘we’ as a couple, they may start talking about ‘I’ and becoming noticeably more selfish.
