The Desperate Housewives star has just launched a new book aimed at boyfriends who wan to do a better job of it.

It advises men on how to look like they’re listening, even when they’re not - if caught not paying attention just say, “You’re so pretty, I’m distracted”.

Men should call when they say they will - because women have learned that men who don’t call when they say they will are not into them. And because women like to talk, men should be prepared to listen.

Some teaser tips:
• Look interested in what she is saying at all times. If your mind is on tomorrow’s match or the cute waitress that’s just passed your table, whatever you do, don’t let her know.
• Arrange the muscles in your forehead into a tight frown of concentration.
• If you are dining out, bring your manners. Don’t eat off her plate or pick your teeth.
• Burping is completely unacceptable. Be generous - especially on those first few outings.
• Don’t, whatever you do, buy into the notion that giving slutty underwear to your girlfriend is romantic. Most girls think it’s pervy.

A national paper last week reported that one in three women is still single at the age of 35!

In 2000 only a quarter were not married, and in 1990 just one in ten was in this position.

You can put this alarming trend down to women’s equality and the desire for a career, increase in work demands, the rising costs of living and the need to work harder to pay to live, mixed in with peers deciding to opt for the singles life and look to have babies later on in life.

Alarmingly the research showed that a couple with children must earn £50,000 a year between them before they are better off than if they lived apart.

However, 7 out of 10 women today aspire to get married.

There are a number of reasons, firstly let’s look at the elements you can control smell, style, appearance, status. And then there is the element that you have little or no control over – the geometric symmetry in your face and figure.

Research has proven that we are programmed to read contours on people’s faces and body shape which allows us to determine whether or not they are attractive, the more symmetrical they are, the more attractive they become.

image
Annie Lennox is said to have the perfect symmetrical face… but not all of us will find her attractive!

When people decide to have plastic surgery or just cake on the make up, they are all looking to improve their symmetry in the hope of attracting more sexual attention. Just like when women hire a personal stylist to improve the appearance of their figure through altering the way they dress.

Men in particular tend to look for these geometrics more so than women, whilst women are looking for a man who can offer food and protection – often categorised by status in today’s male. Hence why successful men are always far more attractive to women than unsuccessful men.

Men are also looking for an hourglass figure in their women (ideally) which presents a female with good reproductive traits. The bigger a woman is, the less fertile they are deemed to be.

You can thank our cave man ancestors for all this!

His name is Calvin Harris, and he’s gotta be one of the luckiest Scotts alive because of the new lady on his arm. He’s a singer, producer and DJ and had a hit with ‘Acceptable in the 80s’ earlier this year.

Kylie is apparently laying down the rumors saying they are simply working together on her new album, however a source from UK paper The news of The World has said;

“They’ve struck up a very close friendship and are now an item”.

“Kylie’s had a tough time but has finally found happiness with Calvin”.

“Kylie is a real fighter. She’s bounced back and has a smile on her face again”.

“She’s excited about the new album but meeting Calvin was the icing on the cake. He always makes her laugh and they’re a lovely couple.”

Kylie recently split from love rat and French actor Olivier Martinez after a 4 year stint

With summer fast approaching (here in Europe and the States anyway!) camping season is also. What better way to relax than to go out, find a field, start a fire, cook some sausages and crack open the Bollinger!

It’s not all come by ah me lord and tambourines anymore. More and more of us are getting out there.

Camping can be hugely romantic, especially in the early stages of a relationship as it’s all about you, them and nature! What could be more natural, and think of all that carbon you won’t be using as you would at home.

The UK especially is geared up for camping in a big way, with thousands of official and unofficial campsites offering a range of facilities (or not).

They range from £5 – £30 per night for a pitch, but be aware that the cheaper ones don’t offer any facilities such as toilets etc.

You don’t need to spend a great deal either, tents can cost from £50 upwards, chairs are £10 each, a portable BBQ is around £3 – then all you need is your food and booze.
