Having recently asked 30 long and short term couples what they felt were the biggest causes of breakups here in the UK and in this day and age, I was surprised at the results. In no particular order…

image

1. Lack of communication
You never know how they are feeling and it drives you crazy because they don’t talk to you about it and you never know where you stand!

2. Feeling there is something better out there
It’s common that throughout the life of a relationship (unless it’s true love of course) that you think you can score more highly with either a better looking partner or someone who you connect with better.

3. Bad habits
I’m talking about the annoying habits such as farting, belching, getting too drunk all the time. Fair enough for the odd time, but after a while it grinds you down!

4. Too keen / suffocating
It’s easy to run into a relationship with full steam and pour out your heart to them. Just be aware that you are quite possibly scaring them away as it’s too much too soon! ‘Play it cool trig’

5. They are too indecisive!
Some people are incredibly decisive, and meeting an indecisive person drives them crazy. In fact there is nothing worse than a ditherer!

This bloke must either be very desperate or very stoopid!

After hooking up with some make believe lovelies in Russia, who were probably 900lb gorillas, he was duped out of £16,000 when asked for air fairs to fly them over. The lady in question was called ‘Natalia’, and after her demands to send £10,000 allowing her to get a visa and a flight to come and see him, he coughed up no questions asked.

It doesn’t get any better I’m afraid folks, he actually went to Heathrow Airport to go and greet her on 4 separate occasions, but guess what? She never showed.

“I feel no ill in my heart. I did really love her,” Hodgkinson told the BBC. What is this bloke on!

After the Russian encounter he thought he’d try his luck with ladies from Senegal through a Christian dating site, so Mr. Generous sent £6,000 to get her into the UK, and guess what, she never arrived either!

He even borrowed the money from his ol’lady AND remortgaged his house. His mother is now haing to take out a loan to repay the debt!

“I did tell him off about keeping going to Heathrow,” she said. “In my heart I knew they wouldn’t ever turn up. But he never listened.”

Then you may also have retired and be able to afford the time to meet someone new and enjoy your golden years to the full. Recent studies have shown that senior citizens are increasingly looking for love after the death of a spouse or a divorce, and that older couples are staying sexually charged later in life – apparently according to The National Council on Aging reported that nearly 30 percent of men in their 80s still engage in some sort of sexual activity at least once a month.

“Men are never over it,” says 79-year-old Wally Pascoe. “They could be 95, and they’re still looking.”

For women, the numbers are a bit lower, but that could be attributed to the fact that women over 65 outnumber men by 15 percent, and by the time their 85th birthdays roll around, women dominate the arena 10 to 4.

There is a downside - incredibly, whilst pregnancy concerns may go out the window, in the US the fastest growing AIDS demographic is the over 50s heterosexuals. Only one sixth are likely to employ a condom during sex. Because AIDS-related symptoms of dementia, pneumonia and weight loss are relatively common in older age groups, physicians and patients often assume these symptoms to be natural and therefore don’t pursue testing.

Tis the season for beer festivals and traditional folk bands, armed with crazy beards and who live in a swamp with their pet birds out of beer festival season.

image

Why am I suggesting this is a good idea for a date… well, it’s simple really – nerves very quickly disappear and there’s no excuse quite like the requirement to get blind drunk and make a complete fool out of yourself outside of a beer festival. Who cares if you dance like a mad dog doing some weird and wonderful mating dance, dribble and all anyway!
