I had to write and tell you about a blog I just stumbled across called I can’t Believe He’s Still Single.

The Editor obviously reviews loads of profiles on dating sites and picks out all the truly sad bastards who are clearly never going to find love the way they are going. If you wanna cheer yourself up because you just been dumped or your boiler has just blown up, then co see for yourself…

How scary is this, a recent poll found that eight out of ten Americans now agree that it’s OK for blacks & whites to date. That means 2 out of every 10 Americans still live in the dark ages. The Civil War ended in 1865… over 140 years ago and yet there is still a clear divide on the subject. Believe it or not, the last poll conducted in 1987 found that a huge 46% were against blacks and whites dating.

As you would expect age is a discerning factor in attitudes towards interracial dating with the older generation being less tolerant than newer generations – you can put this down to the media and education.

Lavalife.com, the Toronto based dating engine recently booted a bisexual man off its site for being open about batting for both teams. I thought our Canadian cousins were more liberal than that!

The disappointed man said: “I’ve put my profile up on dating sites in the UK and I’ve never had this problem before.”  His profile, which identified him as a “bi guy up for fun,” was rejected via an e-mail notification.

“We’re sorry to inform you that we have reviewed your Intimate [category] profile and found that it does not meet our guidelines,” stated the e-mail. “We cannot accept your profile because it is more appropriate for our Manline service which is designed for men seeking men. Please create your profile on Manline.”

A survey just released indicates that single dads will choose to post a profile on a dating site over any other forms of dating.

Conducted in May 2007 by True.com, the survey involved 5,600 single dads in the US and tried to get to the bottom of why so many single fathers are choosing online dating and what they’re looking for in a relationship.

Survey results showed that most single fathers agree that online dating is a safer and easier method for meeting other singles:

75 percent of respondents said that online dating is the easiest way for single parents to meet others
67 percent said that online dating is a safer way to date
67 percent regard TRUE’s policy of screening for criminals and married people as very important (vs. 26 percent for convenient, but not important)

Two cheeky teenagers have been fined £80 by police after playing a prank on a friend and posting his details on a dating website.

The pair of Midlanders, from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, pretended their friend, who is 17, was 19 to post his details.

The victim started receiving calls, some late at night, prompting his family to contact West Mercia Police.

A spokesman said the boys had been drinking and thought it would be a funny thing to do but owned up immediately when questioned.

They were then fined under the 2003 Communications Act but could have ended up in court if they had not accepted the fine.

Pc Wayne Griffin said: “They had been drinking and thought it would be a laugh to place their friend’s name and phone number on a dating website without his knowledge.
