Continuing in the same theme as last week, I have covered Hampshire this time. These are the top 5 most romantic days out in Hampshire:
Beaulieu – Offers you loads. If you like classic cars combined with beautiful surrounds and gardens then this is a truly romantic place to go. Beware that there are often school trips there so there could be loads of crazy screaming kids about. The site also contains the picturesque abbey building ruins which houses an art exhibition on monastic life in the Middle Ages. Certainly somewhere where you won’t get bored. There are some fantastic pubs around there too.

Hollycombe Steam Collection – You may look at the title her and think I am some sort of train spotter…. Not true though! I stumbled across this place a few weeks ago and it’s like going back in time. The whole place has a certain romance about itself because there is steam, noise and smoke everywhere, along with people dressed like something out of Clockwork Orange. Trust me it is a great experience and it literally is in the middle of nowhere. There are loads of gardens to eat a picnic as well as grounds to walk, and the World’s oldest working steam fairground. There are a few geeky types there getting over excited by steam, but it’s a great place to take your date and disappear into the bushes with!

As part of a series of new and ongoing features I will be looking at all the UK’s counties and suggesting a handful of the most romantic days/nights out, providing you with need to know information and saving you valuable loving time.
As it’s my home county I thought I’d kick off with Surrey, in the Heart of South East England and bordering Greater London. There’s plenty on offer so you are spointl for choice.
Here are my top 5 romantic ideas for Surrey:
Wisley Gardens – Wisley is British gardening at its best. Covering over 240 acres, highlights include the Alpine Meadow carpeted with daffodils in Spring, Battleston Hill, brilliant with rhododendrons in early Summer, the heathers and Autumnal tints. All this together with the Glasshouses, Trials and Model Gardens are all features for which the Garden is renowned. It doesn’t matter if you are not a gardener, it’s just a really romantic place to enjoy.

Hampton Court Palace – Home to the world’s oldest known vine and King Henry VIII (and his 8 wives), Hampton Court Palace offers 60 acres of garden that run alongside the River Thames. It even has a maze to get lost in if your date is doing your head in! There are traditional costume guided and audio tours if you fancy it.
The Palace also offers the finest paintings, tapestries and furniture in Britain. Take a picnic and just chill in the gardens. A lovers paradise.

OK I’m bias, but Britain has got to be one of the most romantic places on the planet. Yeah it rains a lot and we only get 4 months of summer, but there are some magical destinations that will melt the heart of the hardest person to please. I thought I’d write an article and expose just a handful of the best ones. I’d be really interested in learning of any places in Britain that you may have visited that is ‘tried and tested’ as a romantic get away.
One of my best ever romantic places in the South East of england - Arundel Castle.
