5 places to pick up a date without spending a penny!

Contrary to popular belief you don’t actually have to spend a bean when looking for a new date. That’s right, no expensive bar or restaurant tabs required. Just have a little imagination and an easy going approach.

Here are my top 5 places to find a date without having to spend a bean.

1- The local library. Every town has one and they are often packed with intelligent and shy single people desperate for someone to come and drag them away from the books. Yes, I know that you are not allowed to talk so have some fun and start passing written messages to people you fancy. Beware though, you may get booted out for pesting!

2- The local park. Parks are often teeming with groups of people or lonely singles walking their best friends. Borrow a dog if you need to, but certainly don’t miss it off your list. A cleverly thrown Frisbee can be a great aid. (Below - Hyde park, London - a fantastic place to find a date).

3- Business networking evenings. Not only will you be popular with your boss for suggesting you attend, but you will also meet loads of lonely entrepreneurs with a healthy drive and sense of ambition.

4- Museums. In the UK most museums are now free. Make the most of it and go find some culture… and a partner with similar interests. Conversation won’t be short because of the interesting things lying around a museum.

5- Register on facebook or MySpace. These social networking sites are entirely free and have millions of people registered with them. You’ll meet old lovers, their friends, their friends friends… it’s addictive!
