Dating your mate’s sister… good idea or not?
I’ve actually been there, twice, so am in a great position to give you first hand advice here.
Is it a good idea… hmmmm, as long as your mate doesn’t feel too difficult about it is my immediate thought.
During my first experience she turned out to be a bit weird and therefore distanced myself from her, which my friend took personally! We aren’t mates any more.
The second time was more successful, it actually brought me closer to my mate and the rest of his family. He never wanted to talk about it however and took 6 months to accept it, but by then it was all over anyway!
If you are really close to your friend and his family then wouldn’t advise it as too many things can go wrong and hearts almost always get broken. If however you don’t know them that well but they are still your mate, then fine – you’ve got very little to lose.
It can often be strange though as mate’s sisters often look like your mate, just with long hair! If you can deal with that then you’ve got past stage 1.
