Want to make the best impression?  Well, try any of the following suggestions to take along with you on the date, this goes for both sexes by the way!

Cool Ideas:

Flowers – as a man I recently received some flowers from a female date and it made a refreshing change.  Always a winner as you can say so much with them.

Chocolates – a ‘classic’ in the dating game, perhaps a little old fashioned, but none the less, if they are good quality rather than a chocolate bar…. You stand a good chance of making an impression.  Probably best for the 2nd or 3rd date.

A Picnic – This makes an ideal first date in my books and provides wou with a chance to show off your culinary skills.  For added effect, take a bottle of wine and chiller and a couple of glasses and go catch a sunset in a park or out of town.  Take a few tee light candles along with you to demonstrate the wonderfully romantic side you have.

A Kite or Frisbee – Pretty cool idea to bring along to a date as it can relieve awkward silences and always bring a smile.  Its also an opportunity to see just how athletic your date is!

A radio or ipod – Good idea to bring along as discussion can move to music and what you both like.  Also a chance to get close to share a set of earphones, could lead to a lingering kiss!

Tacky ideas:

The cuddly toy – Don’t be tricked into thinking this will go down well on a first date if you are over the age of 18.  It is a really corny gift and won’t help your chances of impressing.  However if you win one at a fair for a date, then it immediately has sentimental value.

A condom – Its just plain rude, especially if you have only just met them, it says you ‘put yourself about’.
