Is Chivalry Dead?
I am a 30 year old male who recently opened the door for a lady. Little known to me she was some sort of feminist and turned round and said “I can do it myself”!
Shocked is an understatement. Although this is a one off and I try to open the door to ladies as much as possible, I can’t help but think things are changing and my manners are wasted. Bruce, Leicester UK.
Bruce, what you experienced is very uncommon. Unfortunately it does happen now and again and I put it down to changes in society and attitude. The good news is that the majority of ladies I know and talk to actually can’t wait for a man to show some manners. Keep doing what you are doing and you will be rewarded, trust me.
Fellas, take note and try to offer your space on a busy train or bus, and keep opening those doors. You will stand out from the crowd and create an amazing impression.
