Is our growing desire to remain single killing relationships as we know it?

More and more of us are deciding to remain single well into our 30s. We love our own space and time it appears. Careers are taking control as we want to earn more money to buy more things. I’ve actually found women preferring this option more than men!

So why are we so scared of commitment? I don’t know if it is a commitment thing, I think it’s a cash rich, time poor thing. Priorities are changing with us trying to squeeze as much as everything in to our lives as possible from a early age. Take traveling for an example, we all know someone that has taken off round the globe after school – now why would they want to get tied down! Opportunities that are open to us now are far greater than any other generation before us – we all want a slice.

Relationships can wait, along with the mortgage and babies!

Dating dynamics have also changed, it’s now more acceptable to have a couple of partners on the go, even if it isn’t we still do it! The emergence of internet dating has given us choice like we have never experienced… access to thousands of partners at a touch of a button – we have never been so in demand, why on earth would we want to commit to one person!

For once we are entirely in control of our lives and we are taking it by the horns!
