Romantic South East England
OK I’m bias, but Britain has got to be one of the most romantic places on the planet. Yeah it rains a lot and we only get 4 months of summer, but there are some magical destinations that will melt the heart of the hardest person to please. I thought I’d write an article and expose just a handful of the best ones. I’d be really interested in learning of any places in Britain that you may have visited that is ‘tried and tested’ as a romantic get away.

One of my best ever romantic places in the South East of england - Arundel Castle.
Obviously I can’t tell you about all the places, only what I know to be the nicest from a romantic perspective.
Here goes:
London
Our capital has so much to offer you from the romantic restaurants and magical shows of the West End to the culture and history found at the Tower of London. I’m not one for big cities but I advise you to get there and jump on an open top double decker bus and enjoy the tour (takes ½ day). If you want to really impress then book yourself a table at The Cinnamon Club and I guarantee some of the finest food and wine you have ever enjoyed. If you are looking for some more great ideas for romantic restaurants then try here.
Brighton
If you like the seaside then this place is magical. Its only downer is that it has a stony beach so it can be difficult to walk on – but if that’s the worst thing about it then it has to be a great place. Shopping in The Lanes is fantastic, and the perfect place to throw your arm round your partner and stride casually along doing a little window shopping. To finish the day off, check out the pier and then get yourself some fresh fish and chips and sit on the beach watching the sun go down over the water.
Isle of Wight
Although it is the most expensive crossing of water in the World if you take a car, the Isle of Wight is just a slice of pure English countryside. If you want to stay in a romantic Georgian manor house very cheaply and have the luxury of your own suite then you must go to The Hermitage. The best seafood I have ever tasted is not far away – pretty much every sleepy pub has it on the menu all year round but try Shanklin for their seafront restaurants. One pub you must try (actually my best pub ever) is The Spyglass at Ventnor that overlooks the sea towards France, the only downside is the staff tend to have a bit of an attitude!
Arundel
If you want to experience a slice of England’s medieval side then you must go to Arundel and its famous castle. In fact the place is a little known secret without too many tourists at the moment. It has got to be one of England’s prettiest towns. The castle is quite expensive to go round but none the less is perfect if you want to make that right impression.
Petworth
What a beautiful place. Probably the country’s highest density of antique shops but a wonderfully romantic location. You can visit Petworth House or stroll round the gardens. In the summer they hold festivals there which are really popular, and great to take a picnic to.
There are so many places I want to list but it would take me forever. However if you are thinking of a place you would like to visit and want to know how romantic it is then please .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and I’ll do the legwork and throw some romantic ideas in.
