South African Dating
According to a recent survey carried involving 2000 South Africans, when it comes to dating half consider having sex with someone on a first date and a third are prepared to dump their current partner for a date with a celebrity…
The survey was carried out by www.yesnomayb.com .
They also prefer home grown talent more than the likes of Hollywood film stars. Topping the dream date stakes are swimmer Ryk Neethling and actress Charlize Theron. Brad Pitt and Robbie Williams were second and third choices for the ladies.
Although the South Africans that took part in the survey set their sights very high, having “a lot of money” was not the most important attribute when it came to dating. A “good personality” (42 percent) and a “sense of humour” (22 percent) were what people looked for in a potential partner.
Women must have a sense of humour if they fall for some of the cringe-worthy pick-up lines.
The most popular seems to be: “Here’s R5. Go and phone your parents and tell them you won’t be home tonight.” More than a quarter of the men actually admitted to using this and “Did it hurt when you fell out of Heaven?”
South Africans are also not very original when it comes to “music to make out to”.
The Police song Every Breath You Take was voted the most romantic song, closely followed by the Righteous Brothers classic Unchained Melody and Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You.
