Top 10 most inexpensive romantic Valentine’s Day gifts and activities

On Valentines day It’s actually more romantic to give something to your lover that you have had to think about rather than just buy. Believe me the return on your time investment is huge compared to just going out and spending huge amounts of dough on something material that anyone can buy.

Here is a list of the top 10 things you can do for your loved one that are inexpensive and will get huge appreciation:

1 – Make a compilation. Get all your best songs on a CD and call it something personal to them. Alternatively, get their iPod and add a new playlist of love songs.

2 – Candle Welcome. Get home before they do and get your hands on as many candles as you possibly can and light them, placing them all round the house. Turn off the lights, strip down and await the smile on their face when they open the door!

Simply Irresistible for any hot blooded man… or woman!

3 – Make a card. Doodle, even if you can’t draw, it’s the thought that counts. Make a normal card but personalise it entirely to them and your feelings towards them. Attach lace, glitter… whatever!

4 – Flowers. Well I had to add them really. BUT rather than just going to a florist, why don’t you go find some and arrange them yourself! Your granny’s roses are a great place to start.

5 – Romantic dinner. It is so inexpensive to prepare a lovely meal (£15 tops if you plan it right). Mixed with an ambience using candles you can’t go wrong!

6 – A poem. If you are the creative type you can do a lot worse than put together a poem about you, them and your love. Read a couple of poems online (just search) and get an idea of what you need to do… always brings a tear to their eye (even if it’s a laughter tear!)

7 – Picture perfect. A nicely framed picture of you and them makes a cracking pressie. If you are handy, make the frame yourself!

8 – Pottery drives them potty. There are loads of little shops popping up everywhere at the moment where you can make your own pottery or just decorate plates and glaze them etc. It’s fun and cheap doing it and it is a lovely personalised pressie.

9 – Love treasure hunt. If you have time on your hands, think of a prize and go dropping clues all around the house. The treasure could be you… and you’ll be having fun doing it!

10 – Make your own desert island in the home. If you have the space make an island of cushions, duvets and pillows etc. The rules are that you can only leave the island for the toilet. Get food supplies and whatever you need to make it a fun packed evening of pure love. Heighten the atmosphere by wearing a loincloth or similar!
