Valentine’s Day: A great time for dumping or being dumped…

According to a recent press release from Yahoo! Personals in the stretch of time between New Years Day and Valentine’s Day you are twice as likely to find yourself dumped than any other time of the year.

Their research showed that the reasons for this were that during this time people take stock of their lives and love is of course one of those areas that are contemplated. You ask yourself whether you van do another year with your partner – it’s natural!

The reasons varied with younger singles tending to feel in a rut and older couples tending to have different views on the future, but no matter what the age, it seems that before either half of a couple even thinks about dropping some time and money on a Valentine’s Day blowout, most of them don’t even get that far as a resolution to find a better mate takes hold.

While that is naturally a shame for those in long-term relationships that bust up right around Valentine’s Day season, there is certainly a silver lining. Lots of busted relationships mean lots of eligible singles out on the market that perhaps weren’t before. According to the survey, one of the more popular ways to get over breakups is to go online to meet new dating partners. And that certainly can’t hurt your chances of fulfilling your New Year’s resolution of meeting new singles to date.
