What are FunKards and how will they help me find love?

Now here’s an interesting concept and a new spin on dating, FunKards. Set to be the next best thing to internet dating, this simple Australian concept merges traditional ways of dating with 21st century geek technology.

The founders of FunKards had the brainwave of morphing the traditional business card into a formidable dating tool for the very shy. If you like someone, hand them a card! The founders claim it’s simple, discreet, efficient and very charming because everyone is flattered to know someone finds them attractive.

The business card would contain a simple id number and website address, and if the recipient likes the look of the person who handed it to them they can go check them out online. At this stage the site becomes like most dating sites, a romantic networking portal.

I must say that the site design and functionality is not particularly awe inspiring and there is no proof of any members or even examples so can’t tell you just how successful it is.

The biggest draw for my money is the fact that unlike internet dating, with FunKards there is no need to make a decision to meet someone based on their photo - you actually see the person first - in other words, no nasty surprises
