What on Earth is BAR CODE dating?
Believe it or not dating in New York has taken a new twist with the introduction of Bar Code dating. It’s actually a form of sign language used by singles to say anything from ‘you’re a hottie’ to ‘get lost!’
A popular sign is this (used when you are already with someone) – ‘The Committed Clutch’: put one arm out and hold the wrist with your opposite hand, it means “I wish I could BUT I’m on a date”!
If you like someone then you can always try the ‘Later Loop’, circling your index fingers round each other (means “I can’t get away now but maybe later”)
Here’s the ‘barcode of the month’ found on the official barcodesigns.com website.
Rendezvous Rub
Meaning: Meet me ouside in five minutes.
Execution: It is executed by rubbing hands together forward and backward.

Description: This code is usually employed after a number of Bar Codes have been exchanged. This can lead to verbal communication or lead straight to snogging - away from scrutinizing eyes. The palm rub cna be done very nonchalantly, elbows on the table, slowly rubbing hands from side to side to prevent attracting too much attention.
Origins: This code is derived from the Western usage of anticipation, so in the case of this Bar Code each party is quite eager to meet face to face.
